Newberry's Chamoun Named CSC DII Academic All-America Team Member of the Year; Anderson's Greer Tabbed All-American
AUSTIN, Texas- Newberry's Nastassia Chamoun was named the DII Academic All-America Team Member of the Year in addition to First Team Academic All-America, the College Sports Communicators announced on Thursday (June 1).
Chamoun, a senior from Reunion Island, France, compiled a 4.0 GPA graduating with a business degree earlier in May. She dominated her competition all season long, posting a 20-1 singles record including a 10-1 ledger in conference play and a perfect 19-0 doubles record to earn South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year honors and lead the Newberry to the conference semifinals.
Anderson's Anna Greer also made the list as she was voted Third Team Academic All-America. Greer, a senior from Boiling Springs, S.C., posted an impressive 4.0 GPA graduating with a biochemistry degree.
Eleven of the 19 members of the Academic All-America® Division II women's tennis teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The seven members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.95.
