Carson-Newman
The Carson-Newman College Women's Soccer Team saw four of its players named to the 2009 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Teams.
Sophomore forward Trenna Howell (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and junior defender Melissa Morris (Sweetwater, Tenn.) were named to the first team while sophomore midfielder Sandra Kaelin (Trachslau, SWITZERLAND) and freshman midfielder Andrea Saevik (Bolandet, NORWAY) received second-team honors.
"We are delighted at the all-region selections," said Head Coach Phil McNamara. "It might be as many as we have had in my time here at Carson-Newman. The compliment of this goes not only to the players selected, but to the whole team. Although all four of these players are deserving of this honor, I feel that several other could have made it as well."
Howell leads the team in all offensive categories: goals (13), assists (seven), total points (33) and match-winning goals (seven). She was also named to the All-South Atlantic Conference First Team this season. She was also named SAC Player of the week on Oct. 5.
Morris has been the top-scoring defender on a back line that has only allowed 16 goals in 22 matches this season. She has recorded three goals and four assists for 10 total points including two match-winning scores. Morris was also named to the All-SAC First Team.
Howell and Morris are now eligible for All-America consideration.
Kaelin finished second on the team with 11 goals scored and added five assists for 27 points. She also tallied three match-winners. She is also a Second-Team All-SAC honoree and was chosen as the MVP of the 2009 Food Lion SAC Tournament.
Saevik received First-Team All-SAC accolades for her performance during the regular season as she scored three goals and tied for the team high with seven assists. She currently has 13 total points and has notched one match-winning goal.
"All of these players are having great seasons and we hope that continues this weekend," concluded McNamara.
The Lady Eagles are currently 19-2-1 on the season after winning the 2009 South Atlantic Conference Regular Season Title and are still competing in the NCAA Division II Playoffs. C-N hosts the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament this weekend at McCown Field. Carson-Newman will play Columbus State for the Southeast Region title and the winner will face the winner of the South Region championship match (Rollins vs. West Florida).
Lenoir-Rhyne
The Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Soccer Team placed two players on the 2009 Daktronics All-Southeast Region Team on Tuesday. Sophomore defender Catherine Hauck (Lake Mary, Fla.) and freshman midfielder Elizabeth Hawes (Valdese, N.C.) were both first-team selections.

Hawes scored four game-winning goals during the 2009 campaign to go along with three hat tricks. She was the first player in South Atlantic Conference history to garner league Freshman of the Year honors while also being named SAC Women's Soccer Player of the Year.
Hauck was a relentless defender and an offensive presence for the Bears, as the co-captain contributed eight goals on the year including two game-winners
Hauck, an all-region pick last year, was a 2009 First-Team All-South Atlantic Selection and was also named to the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer All-Tournament Team.

Catawba placed two players on the 2009 Daktronics Women's Soccer All-Southeast Region Team. Junior defender Alexa Baird (Plainfield, NC/Mt. St. Mary Academy) and freshman midfielder Maria Borland (Hagerstown, MD/N. Hagerstown HS) were first team selections.
Baird started all 20 matches for the Lady Indians as a defender. She helped the squad to nine shutouts and a 0.86 goals against average, allowing just 18 goals over the 20 matches. Baird helped Catawba limit its opponents to just an average of 8.2 shots a game, nearly half of the Catawba average of 15.9 per contest.
Borland was the team leader in goals and points in her freshman season. Over the 20 matches, she tallied seven goals and added four assists. One of her goals was a game-winner.
Tusculum
Tusculum College forward Tramicka James and defenders Claire Duncan and Ashley Bradford were selected to the 2009 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Women's Soccer Team. All three were named to the Daktronics All-Region Team for the first time in their careers as the trio marks the second-largest number of All-Southeast Region selections in program history.
James, a freshman from Wilson N.C., led the Pioneers with 11 goals and eight assists, earning All-Southeast Region Second Team honors after leading Tusculum to a sterling 15-5-3 record and the program's first NCAA Tournament berth since 2007. The 5-4 forward scored a team-high three match-winners this season, including the deciding tally against Wingate on Oct. 24 en route to an All-South Atlantic Conference Second Team selection.
Duncan, a sophomore from Greeneville, Tenn., was named to the Second Team after finishing the season tied for third on the team with six goals, including a pair of match-winners. The 5-6 defender was a perfect 3-for-3 on penalty kicks this season, and helped the Pioneers hold their opponents to one goal or less in 15 matches, including seven clean sheets.
Bradford was a critical component of the Pioneers' success this season, answering the call countless times this fall to mark and shut down opposing teams' top players. The 5-7 defender has come through in the clutch several times, scoring three match-winners this fall to tie James for the team lead. Bradford's three deciding goals came in three consecutive matches early this season, as the senior defender netted the match-winners against Southern New Hampshire and Lynn.
Tusculum is expected to return 10 starters and 21 letter-winners from this year's squad, which advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer National Tournament. The Pioneers are also expected to return eight of their top 10 scorers from this season.
Lincoln Memorial
Sophomore midfielder Sarah Taylor was named to the 2009 Daktronics NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Women's Soccer second team.
Taylor from Ajax, Ontario, led the Lady Railsplitters with 13 goals and 30 points.

Wingate sophomore defender Megan Mastalerz and sophomore forward Kelly Adams were named to the second team. Mastalerz helped anchor a Wingate defense that finished second in the league, allowing only 0.70 goals per game. The Bulldogs were third in the conference with nine shutouts on the year. Mastalerz notched a goal and an assist.
Adams led the Bulldogs with nine goals, nine assists and 27
points on the year. She led the SAC with 0.53 assists per game,
while ranking fourth in the league in points and seventh in
