Lenoir-Rhyne’s Linehan Named Women’s Soccer Player Of The Week
Rock Hill, S.C. - Lenoir-Rhyne University's Laura Linehan (San Diego, Calif./University City HS) was named the South Atlantic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week, league officials announced today. This is the second time in three weeks and the third time this season that the freshman forward has received this honor.
Saturday, Linehan scored two of the Bears' three goals against Tusculum including the match winner in the 3-1 victory. The win helped the Bears solidify the No. 4 seed in the 2008 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Tournament.
Linehan leads Lenoir-Rhyne in goals scored (16), assists (five), points (37) and match winners (seven).
L-R (12-5-2) has won the most matches this season since 2002 when it finished the year 13-5-2.
The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors of the league.
