The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week, February 20
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Tusculum's Savannah Elliott has been selected the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week, while Kelly Dowd of Queens has been selected as the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week for matches played Feb. 13th-Feb. 19th, the League announced today.
Elliott, a junior from Oshawa, Ontario, recorded a Tusculum and SAC record 10 goals in a 19-13 victory over Converse. She set another school record for points in a game when she accounted for 12 of the teams 19 points last Thursday. She posted a shot percentage and shot on goal percentage of 90.9 percent in the contest. Elliott leads the League with 14 goals, 16 points, and 16 shots so far this season. The honor marks her first Player of the Week selection this season.
Dowd, a senior from Stoney Point, New York, recorded one ground ball, three draw controls, and three caused turnovers. She also converted her lone shot into a goal in Queens' narrow 11-10 loss to No. 13 Limestone on Saturday. The honor marks her first Player of the Week selection this season.
