Six South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Teams Amidst D2SIDA Southeast Region Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted six teams throughout the fourth week of the Division II Sports Information Directors Association (D2SIDA) southeast regional rankings. Wingate remained at No. 2, while Newberry jumped to No. 3. Anderson rose to No. 4, Carson-Newman dropped to No. 5, and Lenoir-Rhyne joined the poll at No. 8. Tusculum rounded out the region in a tie for 10th.
The Bulldogs did not play this week, but remained in second.
The Wolves were also idle during the week. However, they advance two spots to No. 3 in the region.
The Trojans leaped four places to sit in fourth place after an 81-75 win over regionally-ranked Lander.
The Eagles are in a slump, sliding down to No. 5 after losing a tight SAC contest to regionally-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne, 78-75.
The Bears are making their first appearance of the season in the regional rankings. The team defeated nationally-ranked No. 20/23 Carson-Newman in Jefferson City for the first time since Feb. 8, 2014. Senior forward Madi Suddreth dropped 30 points in the contest to earn SAC AstroTurf Player of the Week honors.
The Pioneers had an off-week and remained in the 10 spot, tied with Emmanuel and Lander.
