Four South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Teams Present in D2SIDA Southeast Region Poll
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference posted four teams in the first week of the Division II Sports Information Directors Association (D2SIDA) southeast regional rankings. Carson-Newman took the top spot and received six first place votes. Tusculum jumped to No. 6, while Wingate and Newberry were placed eighth and ninth, respectively.
The Eagles are currently 4-0, defeating USC Aiken, regionally-ranked Lander and North Georgia, and Georgia College. Junior guard Kayla Marosites earned SAC AstroTurf Player of the Week honors, announced today.
The Pioneers (3-0) came into the week unranked, but leaped to the No. 6 spot. Having yet to play a home regular season contest, the team has beaten Belmont Abbey, King, and Clayton State.
The Bulldogs are an even 2-2 on the young season. The wins have come over Georgia College and Johnson C. Smith, while the losses are against Clayton State and regionally-ranked Francis Marion.
The Wolves have started their season with a perfect 3-0 record. They have downed Erskine, North Greenville, and Emmanuel.
