The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf SAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, Feb. 29
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman guard Kailyn Brooks has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Feb. 22-28, the League announced today.
Brooks, a junior from Lafayette, Tenn., averaged 21.5 points per game and shot 59 percent from the field to lead the Eagles to a pair of South Atlantic Conference wins last week. At Brevard on Feb. 24, Brooks put in 25 points on 73 percent from the floor and 80 percent from long range as Carson-Newman defeated the Tornados, 74-67. She also pulled down three rebounds to go along with three assists and three steals in the win. Brooks followed that effort with 18 points, three rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals in Carson-Newman's 76-69 win over Coker on Feb. 27.
