Five SAC Teams Seeded in NCAA Division II Softball Championship
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Five South Atlantic Conference softball teams have earned a bid to the 2019 NCAA Division II Softball Southeast Regional, the NCAA announced Monday, May 6.
No. 23 Carson-Newman claimed hosting rights as the No. 2 seed in the region and will face SAC automatic qualifier Anderson as the No. 7 seed. Lincoln Memorial was tabbed the No. 3 seed and will battle Wingate as the No. 6 seed in the Eagles' bracket. Coker is the No. 4 seed and their opening opponent will be No. 5 Young Harris in Dahlonega, Ga..
Four teams will participate at each of the 16 regional sites in double-elimination tournaments, held May 9-11. Winners will advance to the regional final, slated for May 16-17. The tournament finals will be held May 23-27 at the Regency Athletic Complex in Denver and will be hosted by Metropolitan State University of Denver.
