The South Atlantic Conference Posts Five Teams to the NCAA Regional Softball Rankings
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference has five teams ranked in the latest NCAA Division II Regional Softball Rankings, the NCAA announced today. Catawba is the highest-ranked team in the League at No. 4 in the Southeast Region as it is currently 29-15 overall.
Anderson came in at No. 5 in the rankings with a 39-13 overall record, while Carson-Newman's 35-13 overall record was good for No. 6. Wingate earned the No. 9 slot as it is 27-20 on the 2015 season and Lenoir-Rhyne rounded out the list for the SAC at No. 10 with its 32-19 overall mark.
The top eight teams in each region earn bids to the NCAA Division II Softball National Championship.
The rankings are the official poll utilized by the NCAA in the championship selection process and will continue to be released each week by the NCAA Division II Softball Committee up to the NCAA Championship selections.
