Four SAC Athletes Set to Compete at NCAA Track and Field National Championships
Four athletes from the SAC have been selected to compete in the 2014 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 22-24 in Allendale, Mich.
INDIANAPOLIS – Four athletes from the SAC have been selected to compete in the 2014 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 22-24 in Allendale, Mich.
Student-athletes qualified for the championship by reaching the automatic and provisional standards establish for each event. Earing selections from the SAC are:
Andrea Guerra, Queens – Women's 10,000 Meter Run
Shelby Kennard, Queens – Women's Pole Vault
George Williams, Wingate – Men's High Jump
Kevin Baxter, Lenoir-Rhyne - Men's 110 Meter Hurdles
Kennard finished first in the pole vault at the 2014 SAC Championship, posting a mark of 10-06, while Guerra won the women's 10K at the SAC Championship in a time of 38:28.94.
Williams, meanwhile, placed second in the SAC Championship high jump competition with a mark of 6-08.75, and Baxter won the event's 110-meter hurdles in 14.20.
