Wingate Sweeps 2024 SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships
WINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Wingate Bulldogs swept the 2024 SAC Indoor Track and Field Championships at the JDL Fast Track on Sunday (Feb. 25).
The Wingate women scored 207 points to finish first, followed by Lenoir-Rhyne in second with 131 points and Carson-Newman in third with 68.
On the men's side, Wingate finished first with 177 points, while Lenoir-Rhyne took second with 132 points and Tusculum claimed third with 55 points.
The Women's Indoor Track and Field Freshman of the Year was awarded to Lenoir-Rhyne's Victoria Arabsiola, while the Men's Indoor Track and Field Freshman of the Year was awarded to Lenoir-Rhyne's Bamidele Ajayi.
Lenoir-Rhyne's Alexis Brown and Catawba's Mikayla Jones were named the Women's Outstanding Track Athletes of the Meet. Lenoir-Rhyne's Olivia Jackson and Newberry's Leonie Samuels were both named the Women's Outstanding Field Athletes of the Meet.
Wingate's Antonin Saint Peyre was named the Men's Outstanding Track Athlete of the Meet. Mars Hill's Jesse Shelton and Lenoir-Rhyne's Philip Stomne were both honored as the Men's Outstanding Field Athlete of the Meet.
The Women's Coach of the Year was awarded to Wingate's Jackie Kirby, while the Men's Coach of the Year honor went to Lenoir-Rhyne's Kevin Paterson.
