INDIANAPOLIS – Six teams from the South Atlantic Conference remain ranked in this week's NCAA Soccer regional polls, including the Mars Hill men, who moved to No. 1 in the southeast region.
Mars Hill climbed to the top spot in this week's men's rankings after being voted No. 3 last week. The Lions are 12-2-1 overall, 7-1 in the SAC and have clinched the conference's regular-season title and the No. 1 seed in next week's Food Lion SAC Soccer Championship.
The Wingate men remained at No. 5 in the poll, while Lincoln Memorial climbed two spots from last week to No. 6. Both Wingate and LMU have clinched top-four seeds in the SAC Championship and will host quarterfinal matches next Tuesday, regardless of outcomes this weekend.
In the women's southeast region poll, Lenoir-Rhyne moved up a spot to No. 2 in this week's rankings. The Bears are 12-1-1 overall and have allowed just two goals in conference play en route to an 8-0 record.
Lenoir-Rhyne has clinched the No. 1 seed in the SAC Championship and at least a share of the regular-season conference title.
Wingate, winners of nine-straight matches, is No. 5 in the poll, followed by No. 9 Tusculum. WU is 12-1-1 overall and 7-1 in the SAC, while TC is 11-2-2 overall and 6-1-1 in league matches.
The regional rankings are selected by the NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Soccer Committees, and are the official polls used in the championship selection process.
