SAC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards go to Queens’ Michael, Coker’s Ryan
Matthew Michael of Queens and Tim Ryan of Coker have been voted as the SAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
ROCK HILL, S.C. – Matthew Michael of Queens and Tim Ryan of Coker have been voted as the SAC Men's Lacrosse Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday.
SAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week | Matthew Michael, Queens
Michael led Queens to a pair of SAC victories over Lenoir-Rhyne and Tusculum by recording a total of four goals and four assists. He posted a hat trick and an assist on Wednesday in a 13-9 Royals win over L-R, and then scored a goal and dished out three assists on Saturday in a 14-5 win against TC.
The attacker finished the week with a shot percentage of .800, and added four ground balls and two caused turnovers. He currently ranks fourth in the SAC in assists with 22.
SAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week | Tim Ryan, Coker
Ryan anchored Coker's defensive efforts against Catawba on Saturday, allowing just seven goals and stopping 73.1-percent of the Indians' shots in an 11-7 Cobras victory.
Ryan recorded 19 saves in the win and also picked up three ground balls. He ranks second in the conference with 156 saves and fifth in save percentage at 53.4.
