Lenoir-Rhyne’s Goldsmith, Coker’s Ryan Named SAC Men’s Lacrosse Players of the Week

SAC Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week | Jay Goldsmith, Lenoir-Rhyne
Goldsmith finished with a match-high five goals on Wednesday in a 17-10 Lenoir-Rhyne SAC victory over Wingate. The win improved L-R to 4-0 in conference play and extended its overall unbeaten streak to six straight.
The junior found the net on five of his six shots in the match, while picking up three ground balls and adding an assist. He has 20 goals and eight assists so far this season.
SAC Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week | Tim Ryan, Coker
Ryan was dominant in the net for Coker on Saturday against Brevard, allowing just three goals in an eventual 18-4 Cobras victory.
Ryan's three goals allowed were a season low, and he finished the match with 12 saves – stopping 80-percent of Brevard's shots-on-goal. He also added five ground balls and one caused turnover.
Ryan's 137 saves this season rank second in the conference.
