ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Queens forward Shaun Willett has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played January 7 through January 13, the Conference announced today.
Willett, a senior from Palm Bay, Fla., led the No. 13 Royals to a 2-0 record last week with a pair of SAC wins over Newberry (96-94) and Carson-Newman (81-77). Versus Newberry, Willett scored 26 points while pulling down a career-high 19 boards with two steals and a block. He then poured in 24 points with 13 rebounds and shot 50 percent from the field in the win over Carson-Newman. For the week, Willett averaged 25 points with 16 rebounds.
