Anderson's Ellis Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Anderson guard Gage Ellis has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played December 10 through December 16, the Conference announced today.

Ellis, a senior from Greenville, S.C., led the Trojans to a 1-1 record last week, while averaging 31.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 steals for the week. He poured in a career-high 37 points in Anderson's thrilling, 102-101, double-overtime loss to Lincoln Memorial. In addition to his 37 points he pulled down seven rebounds and shot 91.3 percent from the charity stripe, going 21-for-23. Ellis then led the Trojans to a 74-69 SAC win over Lenoir-Rhyne. He scored 26 points, going 10-for-18 from the field (55.6 percent), while hauling in 10 rebounds and swiping five steals.

This is Ellis' first Player of the Week selection this season.
