Carson-Newman's Clark Named South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week
Carson-Newman guard Charles Clark has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 29-Feb. 4, the League announced today.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Carson-Newman guard Charles Clark has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played Jan. 29-Feb. 4, the League announced today.
Clark, a senior from Murfreesboro, Tenn., led the Eagles to a perfect 2-0 record for the week, with wins over Anderson and Lenoir-Rhyne. Against Anderson, Clark recorded his fourth career triple-double with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. He now has more triple-doubles than any other active player in the NCAA. In his second game of the week, Clark scored a game-high 24 points and helped guide the Eagles to an 89-79 win over Lenoir-Rhyne in overtime. He also moved up to the No. 2 spot on the SAC All-Time scoring list with 2,178 career points.
For the week, Clark averaged 21.5 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals per game.
This is Clark's fourth Player of the Week selection this year.
