Coker's Deion Craig Selected for NCAA Leadership Forum
HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College junior guard Deion Craig has been selected by the South Atlantic Conference to attend the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum. The 2015 forum will take place in Orlando, Fla. on April 9-12.
"This opportunity means a lot to me," said Craig. "Attending the forum will allow me to become more well-rounded and take the next step in being a leader. Also, the forum gives me a chance to represent the SAC and Coker, which is an honor in itself. Coker has long worked to be recognized on large platforms and I want to represent Coker to the best of my ability."
The forum will be made up of student-athletes and coaches/adminstrators from all three division, with each Division II conference selecting three student-athletes and one administrator from its member schools to attend. Craig was among the many student-athletes nominated in the SAC and selected to attend the forum by the conference office.
"Deion is a leader with goals and the conference will benefit him," said men's basketball coach Dan Schmotzer. "He has a knack for encouraging and leading those around him. His enthusiasm and selfless nature is paramount to his success and he has made an impact on me and the Coker community in his short time here."
Residing from Augusta, Ga., Craig is an executive board member in Coker Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and averages 1.5 points per game for the Cobras.
