The final NCAA Division II men’s and women’s basketball southeast region rankings of the season were released on Wednesday afternoon, with a total of seven SAC teams earning positions in the polls.
INDIANAPOLIS – The final NCAA Division II men's and women's basketball southeast region rankings of the season were released on Wednesday afternoon, with a total of seven SAC teams earning positions in the polls.
In the men's poll, Lincoln Memorial, Anderson, Carson-Newman and Newberry all maintained identical rankings from last week. LMU is No. 2, followed by Anderson at No. 5, Carson-Newman at No. 6 and Newberry at No. 9.
Lincoln Memorial is the top seed in the upcoming Food Lion SAC Men's Basketball Championship, Carson-Newman is seeded second, Anderson third and Newberry fifth.
On the women's side, Lenoir-Rhyne remained the region's top-ranked team, Wingate remained at No. 3, and Lincoln Memorial climbed a position to No. 10.
Lenoir-Rhyne and Wingate are seeded first and second, respectively, in the SAC Championship women's bracket, followed by the third-seeded Railsplitters.
The 2014 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Basketball Championship brackets will be announced Sunday evening on live NCAA.com selection shows, starting at 10 p.m.
