Anderson Propels To No. 2, LMU Falls To No. 3
INDIANAPOLIS - Anderson and Lincoln Memorial remain in the Southeast Region rankings, released by the Division II Men's Basketball Committee Wednesday afternoon. The Trojans jumped two spots to the No. 2 position and the Railsplitters following at No. 3.
Anderson, who captured the conference's regular season crown two weeks ago, knocked off Wingate and Carson-Newman to extend its win streak to eight games. The Trojans are 21-4 on the season and finished their conference schedule with a 17-1 mark. Anderson is currently behind USC Aiken for the top spot within the region.
Lincoln Memorial fell out of the first position in last week's poll after losing to in-state rival, Carson-Newman. LMU came back later in the week and earned a victory over Lenoir-Rhyne to wrap up the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. The Railsplitters ended their season with a 20-4 overall record and a 14-4 conference record.
The regional rankings are the official poll recognized during
the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship selection
process. The championship field will be announced on March 4.
