Wingate's Fleming Named D2CCA Super Region 2 Defensive Player of the Year; All-Super Region 2 Teams Announced
Wingate's Marquise Fleming earned South Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors for the Bulldogs, helping Wingate go 8-3 on the year and rank in the top ten in the nation in scoring defense, sacks and tackles for loss. Fleming leads the nation in sacks, ranking fifth nationally in tackles for loss. He is the only player in the country to be a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award and to be a Harlon Hill Nominee.
In addition to Fleming's honor, 18 SAC football players were named all-region.
