Wingate's Rawlings and Mars Hill's Rucker Earn D2CCA All-America Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The 2018 Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-America Football teams were announced on Wednesday (Dec. 12).
Two South Atlantic Conference student-athletes were named to the All-America teams. Wingate's Cardell Rawlings was named to the first team defense, while Mars Hill's Craig Rucker was a second team selection on offense.
Rawlings, the D2CCA Super Region 2 and SAC Defensive Player of the Year, finished the year ranked second in the nation in sacks with 17 and seventh in tackles for loss with 22.
Rucker, the SAC Offensive Player of the Year, finished the year ranked No. 1 in receiving yards per game with 123.4 and was seventh in receiving yards (1,234) and receiving touchdowns (13).
