SAC Football Places Eight on BSN All-America Team
Eight SAC football student-athletes have been named to the 2013 Beyond Sports Network All-America Team, it was announced on Thursday.
LEESBURG, Va. – Eight SAC football student-athletes have been named to the 2013 Beyond Sports Network All-America Team, it was announced on Thursday.
Earning All-America selections from the SAC are Lenoir-Rhyne offensive lineman Joe Ray and safety Michael Green on the First Team, Tusculum quarterback Bo Cordell and Lenoir-Rhyne kicker Zach Neumann on the Second Team, and Tusculum wide receiver Justin Houston, Mars Hill wide receiver Dimitri Holmes, Lenoir-Rhyne linebacker Tanner Botts and Carson-Newman linebacker Jaycob Coleman on the Third Team.
All seven BSN All-Americans from the SAC were also selected to the All-Conference First Team, and Green was the conference's Defensive Player of the Year.
The SAC football season remains in progress, as Lenoir-Rhyne – led by its four All-Americans – has reached the national semifinals of the NCAA Division II Football Championship. The Bears host West Chester on Saturday with a spot in the national title game on the line.
