South Atlantic Conference Announces WePlayed Sports Baseball Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Wingate's Brett Adams was named the South Atlantic Conference WePlayed Sports Baseball Player of the Week, while Lincoln Memorial's Eli Edds was named WePlayed Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played during week twelve of the 2024 season, the Conference office announced today.
Adams, a junior first basemen from Charlotte, N.C., had a huge weekend against Carson-Newman as the Bulldogs took two out of three against the Eagles as part of a 3-1 week. Adams hit .571 in the four games, going 8-14 with three doubles, three homers and eight RBI, scoring five times. Adams was eight-for-10 in the three-game series against C-N while also drawing three walks, driving in eight runs while blasting three homers and adding a pair of doubles, scoring five runs. He leads the SAC with 66 RBI, ranking second with his 15 homers and fifth with a .404 batting average.
Edds, a freshman from Maynardville, Tenn., threw 7.2 innings on the mount and struck out seven batters. He earned the win in a victory over Newberry by tossing 6.2 innings and allowing three runs while striking out six batters. In a mid-week game, Edds tossed a scoreless inning of relief with a strikeout as LMU upset No. 3 North Greenville.
