Women's Basketball's season closes in SAC Quarterfinals
Rock Hill, S.C. —- The fifth-seeded Catawba College women's basketball team battled back from a 13-point first-half deficit to take a second-half lead against fourth-seeded Wingate in the South Atlantic Conference quarterfinal at the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center on Wednesday evening, but ultimately fell, 61-56.
TEAM STATISTICS
- Catawba was 21-for-58 (36 percent) from the field, holding Wingate to 16-of-47 (34 percent) shooting from the floor
- The Bulldogs went 6-for-20 (30 percent) from three-point range; Catawba shot 6-for-32 (19 percent) from deep
- WU was 23-for-28 (82 percent) from the free throw line, while the Catawba Indians were 8-for-10 (80 percent) from the charity stripe

Paced By Passmore's Season Best 33 Points, Trojans Defeat Mars Hill To Advance To Semifinal Round Of The South Atlantic Conference Tournament
ROCK HILL, S.C. — Anderson University senior Zamiya Passmore poured in a season-high 33 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, leading No. 3 Anderson (22-9) past No. 6 Mars Hill (17-12), 80-73, in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament quarterfinals Wednesday night at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center.
"Man what a battle! ," exclaimed head coach Jonathon Barbaree. "That's what tournaments are all about Anyone can go on a run and win at any time. Mars Hill played a great game and proved just how tough our league is."
