#7 Bulldogs open SAC Tourney play with 7-3 victory over Catawba
Wingate, N.C.----The top-seeded and seventh-ranked Wingate University Bulldogs opened SAC Tournament play in style Friday afternoon, jumping out to a 7-0 lead en route to a 7-3 victory over eighth-seeded Catawba College on day one of the 2024 South Atlantic Conference softball tournament. The Bulldogs improve to 45-7 overall, while the Indians fall to 23-26 on the season. Wingate will play in the winner's bracket Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. against Tusculum. Catawba will play at 1 p.m. Saturday in an elimination game against Lenoir-Rhyne.
Tusculum upsets No. 23 Lenoir-Rhyne in SAC Championship opener
WINGATE, N.C. --- The Tusculum University softball team upset a ranked Lenoir-Rhyne program for the second time this month, taking the opening round game of the South Atlantic Conference Championship, 6-4. The Pioneers have reached the 30-win marker for the first time in a decade.

Trojans Win South Atlantic Conference Championship Opening Round Game Versus Lincoln Memorial In Dramatic Fashion; 4-2
ANDERSON, S.C.- Down to its final three outs, No. 2 Anderson University softball hit back-to-back-to-back home runs to come from two runs down avoiding the upset by the No. 7 seed Lincoln Memorial on Friday afternoon in the opening round of the South Atlantic Conference Championship, defeating the Railsplitters, 4-2, at the AU Softball Complex.

Warder, Lucero heroic in walk-off, extra-inning win over Newberry
ANDERSON, S.C. – Carson-Newman (31-16) was down to its final strike in the bottom of the seventh inning and trailing by two runs when Kennady Warder (Harrodsburg, Ky.).
Facing a 3-2 count, Warder poked a pinch-hit two-run home run to right to force extra innings before Brooklyn Lucero (Loma, Colo.) walked it off with a single through the left side in the bottom of the eight.
