The South Atlantic Conference Announces Field Hockey Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the eighth week of the 2022 season. Mount Olive defender Jule Schuurman was named the offensive player of the week, while Wingate goalie Hannah Colavita-Jones was named defensive player of the week.
Schuurman, a freshman from Krefeld, Germany, scored two game-winning goals and had four points, as the Trojans went 3-0 last week. She netted the game-winner in Mount Olive's 5-1 win over Limestone, and she scored the game-winner in the Trojans' thrilling 2-1 win over No. 6 Converse.
Colavita-Jones, a freshman from Newfield, N.J., led the Bulldogs to their first-ever win, 3-2 over Coker in overtime. She made 12 saves in the game, including stopping Coker on three attempts in the penalty shootout. She is now ranked fifth in the nation in saves per game.
