SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Mars Hill men's basketball team (0-2) was defeated by Belmont Abbey (1-1) by a score of 92-57 Saturday evening.
The Crusaders entered the half with a 48-22 lead as LJ McCoy led the way with 11 points followed by Charles Solomon's 10. Belmont Abbey shot over 60 percent from the floor and hit four of their seven three-point attempts.
Trey Belin led the Lions with eight points in the half followed by Isayah Johnson's four.
The second half saw the Crusaders net another 44 while Mars Hill scored 35. Belmont Abbey had 21 points from the bench and continued their hot shooting, hitting 17-of-27 attempts from the floor, clicking in at 63 percent.
