MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (3-7-1, 0-5 SAC) was downed by Anderson (5-4-1, 2-3-1 SAC) by a score of 4-1 Saturday afternoon inside Meares Stadium.
The Trojans struck twice in each half with Conor Kilgallon doing the same feat. Kilgallon opened the scoring in the first half in the 19th minute for his first of the season. Less than eight minutes later, Harry Ward netted his fifth of the campaign to go up 2-0 entering the second half.
In the 52nd minute, Joakim Lien scored his third goal of the season to cut the Trojans' lead in half.
Kilgallon struck once more for his second of the game and the season with nine minutes remaining in the contest. Ben Lemen added another goal with under 30 seconds left to put the Trojans up 4-1 at the end of the game.
Kilgallon and Ward led the Trojans with three shots on the day. Walker Henderson led the Lions with three shots.
The Lions conclude their seven-game homestand on Wednesday, October 16 when they host Carson-Newman at 7:30 p.m.
