Wilgeroth and Boone Earn SAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week Honors
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference has announced its WePlayed Sports Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week for games played during week eight of the 2025 season. Kaleigh Wilgeroth of Wingate has been named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Riley Boone of Wingate has been named the Defensive Player of the Week.
Wilgeroth, a senior, led No. 20 Wingate's two victories, totaling 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists) on the week. She recorded four goals and two assists in a 10-5 win over Indiana (Pa.) and followed that with two goals and four assists in a dominant 20-4 win over Tusculum. Wilgeroth was highly efficient, scoring on 75% of her shots (6-for-8) while also adding two ground balls and a caused turnover.
Boone, a senior goalkeeper for Wingate, anchored the Bulldogs' defense in two wins, racking up 18 saves with a 4.50 goals-against average and a 66.7% save percentage. She delivered a standout performance with 16 saves in a 10-5 win over Indiana (Pa.), where she posted a 76.2% save percentage, then followed with two saves in Wingate's win over Tusculum.
