WePlayed Sports Softball Players of the Week Announced

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Softball Players of the Week for games played during week nine of the 2025 season. Wingate's Hali Scott was named the Player of the Week and Newberry's Lindsey Foster was named the Pitcher of the Week.

Stevens, a senior from Shoals, N.C., had a huge week as the Bulldogs went 3-1 in league play to remain atop the standings. Scott hit .538 on the week, blasting five homers and driving in 13 runs, scoring 6 times while posting a .600 on-base percentage and 1.692 slugging percentage. Scott homered in all 4 games on the week and was 2-3 with a homer and 4 RBI in the 12-2 win over Coker in game one, while adding a homer and 2 RBI in the game 2 win. She connected on two homers in the 8-6 victory at LR Saturday, while adding a homer and 5 more RBI in the finale.

Foster, a senior from Griffin, Ga., made three appearances in the circle for the Wolves and posted a 2-0 record. In her 16 innings of work, she allowed just five earned runs and struck out 13 batters. She threw a pair of complete games on the week and posted a 2.19 ERA and 1.38 WHIP.
