WePlayed Sports Softball Players of the Week Announced
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its WePlayed Sports Softball Players of the Week for games played during the first week of the 2025 season. Carson-Newman's Macauley Bailey was named the Player of the Week and Lincoln Memorial's Halle Grace Patton was named the Pitcher of the Week.
Bailey, a junior from Cross Plains, Tenn., went 4-for-7 with five runs, two home runs and eight runs driven in over three Carson-Newman victories over the weekend. She drew three walks and didn't strike out once to post a .636 on base percentage to go with a 1.714 slugging percentage. Her two-homer day on Sunday put her in sole possession of third place on the Carson-Newman all-time home run list with 32 in her career. She also laced a pair of doubles.
Patton, a senior from Adamsville, Tenn., earned the league's pitcher of the week honor thanks to a week where she recorded all three of the Railsplitters victories to open the season. On top of her 3-0 week, she struck out 11 batters and pitched to a 2.80 ERA while recording two wins over Lees-McRae and one over Tiffin. She tossed two complete games and allowed six runs in her 15 innings of work.
