The South Atlantic Conference Announces AstroTurf Softball Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Softball Players of the Week for games played during March 25 through March 31. Lenoir-Rhyne garnered player honors with Erin Boone, while Coker earned the pitching accolade with Christine Carver.

A senior outfielder, Boone became Lenoir-Rhyne's all-time hits leader in dramatic fashion, a game-ending home run over Augusta. On the week, the Creedmoor, N.C. native crushed four homers, with two coming in just one game, scored nine runs, drove in eight, walked twice, and collected nine hits. Boone posted a .450 batting average, .500 on-base percentage, and a 1.050 slugging mark. She had at least one hit in all six games. This is Boone's first Player of the Week honor of the season.

Carver, a junior right-handed pitcher, logged 12 innings of scoreless work, including a complete-game shutout of Carson-Newman. The Waxhaw, N.C. native also kept nationally-ranked Wingate at bay for five innings. Carver allowed just two hits in each game with one walk, while striking out 12 batters. This is Carver's first Pitcher of the Week honor of the season.
