Mars Hill’s Ashley Harber, Tiffany Farthing Named Softball Players Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill's Ashley Harber (Goose Creek, S.C.) and Tiffany Farthing (Kure Beach, N.C.) have been named the South Atlantic Conference Player and Pitcher of the Week, league officials announced Monday.
The two combined to lead the Lions to a 4-0 week with sweeps of both Carson-Newman and Wingate in SAC play.
Harber, a senior shortstop, belted a pair of game-winning home runs, finishing the week 7-for-11 at the plate with nine RBIs and six runs scored. She also drew four walks.
The Goose Creek, S.C. native ripped a grand slam in game one and a three-run blast in game two to lead the way a sweep of Carson-Newman on Tuesday. She added a game-tying RBI single and scored the go-ahead run in game two against Wingate.

Farthing fired Mars Hill to a pair of wins, including a complete game against C-N on Tuesday. She scattered 14 hits and four earned runs in 11.1 innings of work on the week. She also took a win in a sweep of Wingate on Sunday. The junior went four and one-third innings, striking out three, while allowing two earned runs. She finished the week with eight strikeouts.
The Kure Beach, N.C. native took SAC Pitcher of the Week honors for the second time in three weeks.
The SAC Players of the Week are determined by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
