Mars Hill’s Kristina Osborn Named Academic All-American
MARS HILL, N.C. - Kristina Osborn has been selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-American third team.
Osborn, a 5-6 catcher on the Lions' softball team, hails from Birmingham Ala. She graduated from MHC on May 11. Osborn had a 3.99 GPA as a biology major. She was appointed valedictorian for the 2008 graduating class and was an ESPN The Magazine All-District selection in 2007 and 2008. On campus and in the community, she performs 35 hours of community service each semester. She is the captain of the Mars Hill softball team and serves as an assistant coach of a traveling under 16 softball team during the summer.
Osborn is a two-time All-Conference selection. She ranked eighth
in the league in batting average and led the conference in doubles
in 2007. She helped her team to a school record 39 wins in
2008.
Osborn has been selected as Mars Hill College's NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee. Osborn will compete against nominees from the other South Atlantic Conference schools to reach the national ballot.
The ESPN the Magazine Academic All-America team is selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) from institutions around the nation.
