Carson-Newman’s Stevens, Heim Named Softball Players Of The Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Carson-Newman's Zoe Heim and Mandy Stevens have been named South Atlantic Conference Pitcher and Player of the Week, the league announced today.

Senior pitcher Zoe Heim posted a 4-1 record on the week, with an impressive 0.52 ERA. The Ohio University transfer struck out 38 in 25 innings of work, allowing only 13 hits. She also picked up a save in C-N's 6-3 win over Catawba on Saturday. She is 17-3 on the season.

Senior third baseman Mandy Stevens belted three home runs to help power a 5-1 Lady Eagle week.

The Knoxville native hit a home run in each of C-N's two win over Felician. She added a three-run blast as C-N beat Catawba 6-3 on Saturday. She finished the week with 10 RBIs and nine hits, five for extra bases.

The SAC Player of the Week is determined by a vote of the sports information directors in the league.
