Tusculum’s Chrissy Wilkison, Presbyterian’s Mary Gordon Named Softball Players Of The Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. -- Tusculum's Chrissy Wilkison was named the South Atlantic Conference Softball Player of the Week and Presbyterian's Mary Gordon was chosen as the league's Pitcher of the Week it was announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
A junior, Wilkison batted .652 last week in leading the Pioneers to a 7-0 mark on the week, which included five victories at the 2007 Snow Bird Classic.
A 5-foot-9 first baseman from Lake Forest, Calif., Wilkison was 15-for-23 from the plate last week, tallying 17 RBIs. Wilkison crossed the dish 12 times herself and also recorded two doubles and a pair of home runs.

She had one of the better games of her career in Tusculum's 21-3 victory over Juniata College as she set the new school single-game record with seven RBIs in a contest. Wilkison went 3-for-4 in the game, scoring four runs and hitting a home run.
Gordon was a perfect 5-0 from the pitcher's circle last week for the Lady Blue Hose. The freshman pitched 32 innings and fanned 31 batters in a 7-2 week for PC.
Gordon surrendered just six earned runs in the 32 innings.
The Vernon, Conn. native is now 10-0 from the circle in PC's first 19 games of the 2007 campaign.
The South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week is voted on by the league's Sports Information Directors.
