Bracket Set for 2022 South Atlantic Conference Field Hockey Championship, Converse and Mount Olive Claim Division Titles

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Converse won the South Atlantic Conference Mountain Division Regular Season Title, and Mount Olive won its first-ever SAC Piedmont Division Regular Season Title, giving both teams the No. 1 seeds in next week's South Atlantic Conference Field Hockey Championship.

The Valkyries finished the conference schedule with a record of 11-1, while Mount Olive was a perfect 12-0 in league play. As the No. 1 seeds both teams have earned a bye into the semifinals.

Newberry finished the regular season with a 7-5 record in conference play to earn the No. 2 seed in the Mountain, while Belmont Abbey also finished at 7-5 in the SAC and is the No. 2 seed in the Piedmont.

Lander picked up the No. 3 seed in the Mountain with a 6-6 record in conference, and Coker earned the No. 3 seed in the Piedmont with a 5-7 SAC record.

The 2022 South Atlantic Conference Field Hockey Championship quarterfinals will be played on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at the higher seeds, while the semifinals will be played in Spartanburg, S.C. at Converse on Friday, Nov. 18. Winners will advance to the championship finals on Sunday, Nov. 20, also at Converse. 

The 2022 Field Hockey Championship schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, Nov. 15 (at higher seed)

Game 1: #2 Newberry vs. #3 Coker, 6:00 p.m.

Game 2: #2 Belmont Abbey vs. #3 Lander, 2:00 p.m.  

Friday, Nov. 18 (at Converse University)

Game 3: #1 Mount Olive vs. Winner Gm. 1, 2:00 p.m.

Game 4: #1 Converse vs. Winner Gm. 2, 5:00 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 20 (at Converse University)

Game 5: winner game 1 vs. winner game 2, 2:00 p.m.
