The South Atlantic Conference Announces Field Hockey Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the eleventh week of the 2022 season. Converse forward Lotte Kanters was named the offensive player of the week, while Mount Olive defender Maud van Duin was named defensive player of the week.
Kanters, a sophomore from Loosdrecht, Netherlands, scored both game-winning goals this week, including a stroke, to complete the season sweep of both Newberry (2-1) and Belmont Abbey (2-0). She scored 3 total goals, marking her nation-leading 21st, 22nd, and 23rd goal on the season.
van Duin, a freshman from Hazerswoude-Rijndijk, Netherlands, anchored a Mount Olive defense that collected a pair of shutout victories last week. She assisted the defensive effort as the Trojans held Wingate to just one shot the entire match while limiting Lander to just two shots on goal. van Duin played 119 minutes along the backline as nationally-ranked Mount Olive extended its winning streak to 12-straight.
