The South Atlantic Conference Announces Field Hockey Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the seventh week of the 2022 season. Mount Olive forward Nikki Bos was named the offensive player of the week, while Mount Olive goalie Alanna Barrett was named defensive player of the week.
Bos, a freshman from Leusden, Netherlands, finished the week with 10 points on three goals and four assists as she led Mount Olive to a 2-0 SAC record. She dished out two assists in the Trojans' 4-1 win over Newberry and then scored a hat trick with two assists in their 11-0 win over Lincoln Memorial. Her hat trick was the first in program history.
Barrett, a sophomore from Culpeper, Va., led the Trojans to a pair of SAC wins over Newberry (4-1) and Lincoln Memorial (11-0). She made three saves and did not allow a single goal during her time in the net last week. The lone goal of the week was scored following a goalie substitution. Barrett played the first half against Lincoln Memorial and combined for the program's second shutout victory.
