The South Atlantic Conference Announces Field Hockey Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the fourth week of the 2022 season. Mount Olive forward Morgan Paterson was named the offensive player of the week, while Mount Olive defender Jente Ogterop was named defensive player of the week.
Paterson, a sophomore from Vanderbijlpark, South Africa, led the Trojans to a 2-0 record last week with a pair of SAC wins over Belmont Abbey (2-1) and Wingate (4-2). She scored two goals, including the game-winner in the win over Wingate, finishing the game with four points.
Ogterop, a freshman from Apeldoorn, Netherlands, anchored a Mount Olive defense that allowed just three goals and just 16 shots over two games last week. Her shutdown defense allowed the Trojans to secure the victory over Belmont Abbey and with her leadership on the backline they held Wingate to just seven shots.
