The South Atlantic Conference Announces Field Hockey Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the second week of the 2022 season. Coker forward Kaiya Sabur was named the offensive player of the week, while Converse defender Josephine Jense was named defensive player of the week.
Sabur, a junior from Severn, Md., led the Cobras to a pair of victories, including a 4-3 SAC win over Wingate. She scored two goals, including the game-winner for Coker in a 3-2 win over Bloomsburg and she had an assist in the Wingate victory. For the week she had two goals and an assist for five points.
Jense, a freshman from Amsterdam, Netherlands, anchored the Valkyrie defense as the team's center back. Thanks to her leadership, Converse allowed just one goal on three shots in a 5-1 win over Lander last week.
