The South Atlantic Conference Announces Field Hockey Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – The South Atlantic Conference announced its Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the first week of the 2022 season.  Converse forward Lotte Kanters was named the offensive player of the week, while Converse defender Josephine Jense was named defensive player of the week.

Kanters, a sophomore from Loosdrecht, Netherlands, was the offensive catalyst for the Valkyries in their two season-opening victories. She scored three goals and earned six points in their win over Franklin Pierce. She then scored two more goals and had an assist for five points versus Southern New Hampshire. For the week, Kanters had five goals and an assist for 11 points.

Jense, a freshman from Amsterdam, Netherlands, started both games for the Valkyries at center back and help hold their opponents to just one goal on two shots. In addition to holding down the Converse defense, she added an assist in the Valkyries' 7-0 win over Franklin Pierce.
