Converse Sweeps South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Astroturf Field Hockey Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – South Atlantic Conference Carolinas announced its AstroTurf Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the seventh weekend of the season. Converses' Luisa Fasold was named Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Ciriaca Petitto was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Fasold, a freshman from Wolfenbüttel, Germany, helped lead the Valkyries to a 2-0 record after facing Newberry and Queens this past week. Overall, she scored two goals, garnering 10 points with 2 shots on goal for a .500 shooting percentage. This is the first Offensive Player of the Week honor for Fasold.

Petitto, a graduate student goalie from Yorktown, VA., was an instrumental part in Converses' victories over conference opponents this past weekend. Overall, Petitto had five saves for a .833 save percentage after spending 122 minutes between the posts. This is the third Defensive Player of the Week award for Petitto this season.
