Newberry Sweeps South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Astroturf Field Hockey Players of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – South Atlantic Conference Carolinas announced its AstroTurf Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the third week of the season. Newberry swept this week's honors with Caitlin Wassermann who was named Offensive Player of the Week, and teammate Grace Lee who was named Defensive Player of the Week. 

Wassermann, a freshman midfielder from Sydney, Australia helped lead the Wolves to their win over Belmont Abbey, beating them 4-1 this past weekend. She scored one goal garnering three points with two shots on goal. This is the first Offensive Player of the Week honor for Wassermann. 

Lee, a junior goalie from Seaford, Del., allowed just one goal with four saves for a .800 save percentage. This is the first Defensive Player of the Week award for Lee.
