South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Announces AstroTurf Field Hockey Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – South Atlantic Conference Carolinas announced the AstroTurf Field Hockey Players of the Week for week seven of the 2019 season. Coker's Britto Kabo was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Queens' Avian Thompson was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Kabo, a freshman from Marrssen, Netherlands, led the Cobras to a pair of wins last week. She scored goal and had an assist in their 7-1 win over Mount Olive and scored a goal with two assists in a 4-1 victory over Converse. She finished the week with seven points on two goals and three assists. This is Kabo's first offensive player of the week honor of the season.
Thompson, a sophomore from Hummelstown, Pa., earned pair of shutout victories for the Royals last week, as they defeated Frostburg State 4-0 and Limestone 1-0. Against Frostburg, Thompson recorded a single save in the win, while she made six saves in the Limestone win. For the week she had seven saves and did not allow a single goal in 120 minutes of action in the net. This is Thompson's third defensive player of the year honor of the season.
