South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Announces AstroTurf Field Hockey Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – South Atlantic Conference Carolinas announced the AstroTurf Field Hockey Players of the Week for week six of the 2019 season. Newberry's Brady Keeler was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Limestone's Daisy Ruhle was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Keeler, a senior forward from Bridgeville, Del., led the Wolves to a 2-0 record last week; including a thrilling 2-1 overtime win over Limestone. She scored three goals and had an assist in Newberry's 6-2 win over Mount Olive, and then scored the game-winner in overtime to defeat Limestone 2-1. For the week Keeler had nine points on four goals and an assist. This is her first offensive player of the week honor this season.
Ruhle, a freshman goalie from Marlow, England, led the Saints to a 1-1 record, including a 3-0 shutout over Belmont Abbey. She recorded one save and did not allow a goal against the Crusaders and then made seven saves, surrendering just two goals in Limestone's 2-1 overtime loss to Newberry. For the week she had a .800 save percentage and allowing just 0.97 goals per game with eight saves. This is her second defensive player of the week accolade of the season.
