Bracket Set for Inaugural South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Field Hockey Championship
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) –Limestone won the first-ever South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Regular Season Title and claimed the No. 1 seed in next week's South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Field Hockey Championship.
The Saints, ranked No. 10 in the NFHCA Division II Coaches Poll, finished the conference schedule with a record of 9-1.
Belmont Abbey and Queens both finished the regular season with identical 6-4 records in conference play. The Crusaders earned the No. 2 seed by virtue of its 2-0 record versus Coker, while Queens was 1-1 against the Cobras, making the Royals the No. 3 seed.
With a conference record of 5-5, first-year program Coker picked up the No. 4 seed to round of the field of four that will travel to Gaffney, S.C. and Limestone for the inaugural championship.
The 2018 South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Field Hockey Championship semifinals will be played at Limestone on Friday, Nov. 16. Winners will advance to the championship finals on Sunday, Nov. 18, also at Limestone.
The 2018 Field Hockey Championship schedule is as follows:
Friday, Nov. 16 (at Limestone College)
Game 1: #1 Limestone vs. #4 Coker, 4:00pm
Game 2: #2 Belmont Abbey vs. #3 Queens, 6:30pm
Sunday, Nov. 18 (at Limestone College)
Game 3: winner game 1 vs. winner game 2, 2:00pm
