Limestone Sweeps South Atlantic Conference Carolinas AstroTurf Field Hockey Player of the Week Honors

ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – South Atlantic Conference Carolinas announced its AstroTurf Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the week of Oct. 8 through Oct. 14. Limestone's Thando Muchemenyi was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate Cameron Felch was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Muchemenyi, a sophomore from Vienna, Va., was an offensive force last week as she led the Saints to a pair of conference victories. She scored two goals on three shots, earning four points, in Limestone's 5-1 win over Converse. She then added three goals and an assist for seven points in the Saints' 8-0 win over Belmont Abbey. For the week she scored five goals with an assist for 11 points on six shots. This is the first Offensive Player of the Week honor for Muchemenyi.

Felch, a junior from Virginia Beach, Va., anchored a Saint defensive unit that allowed just one goal and only four shots on goal in two games last week. In addition to leading the defense, Felch aided the offense with a goal in Limestone's 8-0 win over Belmont Abbey. This Felch's first Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
