South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Announces AstroTurf Field Hockey Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – South Atlantic Conference Carolinas announced its AstroTurf Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the week of Sept. 24 through Sept. 30. Coker's Amelia Gajewski was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Limestone's Susie Williams was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Gajewski, a junior from Collins, N.Y., led the Cobras to their first field hockey victory in 40 years, with a 4-2 win over Converse in South Atlantic Conference Carolinas action last week. The midfielder netted a hat trick, scoring three goals for six points on three shots. This is the first Offensive Player of the Week honor for Gajewski.
Williams, a senior from Louisville, Ky., led the Saints to a pair of wins last week. She allowed just one goal and made 10 saves, including seven saves in Limestone's 2-1 win over Lindenwood. This Williams' first Defensive Player of the Week award this season.
